The SWA is run by students and ex-students, which means we are looking to recruit
YOU for next year’s committee. You don’t need qualifications, just a big fat amount 
of enthusiasm. Read below for the types of jobs that are available!

At the moment this is who we are and what we do… 

2 Shareholders - 
The ultimate decision making power lies 
with the shareholders, they ensure that 
the company is run in the best interest of the members. 

James 'JP' Potten
Sarah 'Spleena' Gebbett
3 Directors: 
The directors take legal responsibility 
for the decisions made and the running 
of the SWA. It is their responsibility to attain 
RYA affiliation, public liability insurance, to 
deal with the Inland Revenue and Companies 
House. 
President: 
Phil co-ordinates the SWA committee to ensure 
that the day to day running of 
the organisation goes without hitch and that 
everyone knows their jobs and 
responsibilities. He leads the committee and
 presidents. 
Phil Cutter
Vice President: Beaker helps Phil to co-ordinate 
the SWA committee, he 
also co-ordinates the web team to ensure that the 
techy side of the organisation 
know what the score is. He is also the first 
point of contact for presidents. 
Anthony 'Beaker' Lindley
Company Secretary: Sarah takes the 
responsibility for communicating 
with the RYA, Inland Revenue, Companies
 House and makes sure that our 
public liability insurance policy is up to date. 
She is also the windsurfing industry 
and outside industry contact with regards to 
sponsorship and PR.

Treasurer:

Emily makes sure that the SWA accounts
 are all present and correct and takes 
responsibility for submitting our annual 
returns to the Inland Revenue.

Web Consultant: 
Michael is called upon in any web-type 
emergency for much needed help and 
gives advice and assistance to our web 
team

Media Consultant: 
Caz provides us with advice with 
regarding to the Media and Marketing 
aspects 
of the SWA. She is also invaluable in 
helping to launch press campaigns before 
big events such as the Aussie Kiss

Merchandise Consultant: 
Henry thinks of new merchandise ideas 
and sees them through from their initial 
inception to selling them to students. 
His ultimate aim is to build up the brand 
name 
of the SWA. 
Henry Rock-Evans
Events Team: 
Southern Events Officer: 
Sam co-ordinates and offers advice
 to presidents of the Southern windsurfing 
clubs. Both in anticipation of Southern 
events, and also answering any and all 
questions, he is the SWA ambassador 
for the South. Sam is also the results 
officer and generally on hand at all events 
to provide assistance.

Northern Events Officer: 
Jamie is the Sam for the North, our 
Northern ambassador, promoting 
the SWA 
and windsurfing in colder quarters.

SWA-Team Officer: 
Bob co-ordinates the 2006/07 SWA-Team 
ready to storm the UK competition scene.

James organises events and attendance 
by ex-windsurfing students to SWA and

Web Team: 
Front End Officer:  
Warren makes sure that all is running
 smoothly at the front end of the SWA
 website, 
working hard to keep the website
 interesting for students.

Middle Earth Officer:  
Aron deals with the content of the 
SWA website from the back end, 
ensuring that 
there are no hiccups in the running 
of the website.

Back End Officer: 
Dougie is in charge of our email lists 
and groups, he is essential for keeping 
lines of communication open in the 
SWA.

Creative Design Officer: 
Ali creates the logos and graphic designs 
for our website and merchandise.

Media & Marketing Team: 
Windsurf Industry Media Manager: 
Chris is responsible for the articles 
sent to Windsurf, Boards and Boardseeker.com 
magazines. He ensures that we have a 
regular coverage and writes and sources 
articles to go in the magazines.

External Marketing Manager: 
Jen works alongside Sarah to attain 
new corporate sponsors for the SWA.

Media Officer: 
Emily works to keep the content of the
 website fresh and exciting, adding new 
articles and putting fresh spins on the usual banter.

Merchandise Officer: 
Simon helps Henry to carry out 
merchandise ideas and sell the products when 
they have been produced.

Film Officer: 
Scotty is helping us to compile a film 
of the SWA year 2006/2007, watch this 
space for the resulting DVD.

Jav and Lucy mercilessly attend every single 
SWA event and catch your most
