Creating a Website Login account:
If you have never previously logged into the site then you will need to get a unique university code from your windsurf club president. When you have this click on 'Login' in the top right corner of the site then 'Create new account'. Complete the form in there and then you will be able to login to the site. If you are no longer at uni then contact the SWA webteam below.
Once logged in then you can change your account details by clicking on 'My Profile' in the Usermenu. Please make sure you spell your email address correctly!
No, you can carry on using your old login account to book and pay for XSWA places.
Yes, just drop us an email with your new uni so we can swap you over in our system. After that you will be able to login etc as usual and your new windsurf club president will be able to register you for events.
This may be because you haven't logged in for some time. In 2006 the site was hacked and many login details were erased so first of all try re-creating a login account using the above technique. If this doesn't work or you have logged in recently but can't remember your login details then click 'Login' then on the 'Forgotten password' link.. Please note that if you use a hotmail address this will not work. If this fails to instantly send you an email then contact us using the form below with your name and uni.
Technically, we could but if you are able to login then you can easily change your details yourself. Just login then click on 'My Profile' in the Usermenu.
Try logging into the site using the username / password that you set in the form. Event registration / Payment:
If you are a student and want to windsurf at the event then when you want to attend an event you must let your president know first. They will register you online and you will receive an email straight away telling you what to do in order to pay. If using hotmail you will not get this email so login and check the 'Event Payment' menu link and if registered the event will appear in the dropdown in there.
You need to check several things:
If you have left it too long after receiving the email then your place may have been offered to someone else. It is vital that you login and pay as soon as you get the email as most events have strict payment periods as they are so popular. Ask your president if they are able to re-register you as they may have some spaces still available.
When you paid you would have received an email receipt from Nochex. Forward this to webmaster at swa.co.uk requesting that we check your account details. Being a registered company we do have thorough records of any payment the SWA has ever received but these are stored deep in the system and take a while to trawl through to find your details so it is quickest if you provide the receipt.
Firstly, how do you survive??
In order to make sure you don't miss out on the event it is a good idea to borrow a friend's card to book your place. Then contact nochex through their website and ask them to sort it. It is not an SWA error so we are unable to help further unfortunately.
Each event is run differently so ask your president what the options are. For Aussie Kiss contact

. They will require copies of your certificates and once checked they will authorise you to attend as an instructor. Until they have authorised you the instructor payment option will remain locked.
The SWA is under no legal obligation to refund tickets for any event once purchased. Trust us, one of the SWA directors works in a law firm.. However we want to help so make sure your president knows what is going on, they will hopefully find a replacement for you. We can then swap the details in the system and you can get the cash from the new attendee.
If in any doubt then do not try and pay again. It is better that you contact us early and we can check to see if we have received your payment. If you do pay twice and require a refund you will not receive your full money back as a small processing fee will be taken from your transaction. If in doubt, get in touch first! General SWA Questions:
Chances are that there was once a windsurf club there but it may have folded in the past. We have records of which unis have ever had a club and can help you set up a new one with loads of advice and support. Just get in touch asap!
Fear not! Ex students automatically become members of the XSWA - and part of a growing network spread across the UK. Growing old is compulsary, growing up is optional. Click here for more information.
Maybe you should consider becoming the president next year? Get in touch and we will try to kick your president's rear-end but cannot promise anything. We can get you added to our president mailing list if you want so you can be a proxy president too.
We have many current sponsors already but always love to hear from other companies. Please get in touch via the link below.
The SWA is a not-for-profit organisation so all the money received is put into making events cheaper, safer and better! One of the many ways we do this is by paying money back to unis in the form of grants for running events. Presidents can apply to us for financial support for running events and we will check out what they will be spending the money on then just give them a wad of cash for their event. The SWA Festival is obviously a huge financial risk to run each year so a certain amount of money is kept as a safety factor to prevent the SWA from going bust in a worst-case scenario...
There are loads of different roles in the SWA committee, the team includes merchandise, sponsorship, media, events and web people so we can find something for everyone to do! We have current students, ex-students, postgrads and some people who are a mixture of all of those... Just have a chat with one of the committee at the next event and check out 'Join the SWA Committee' in the main menu.
Where do we start??
Oh that's probably beaker that you're talking about, yeah he is really super hot. To impress him try buying him a drink as soon as you arrive at an event, party hard and windsurf harder! He was in no way associated with the writing of these FAQ either...
