The words of James Grainger, one of the chief instructors who also happens to be XSWA: We're looking to find a good person, qualified as a windsurfing instructor, to commit to working for at least a year in the Cayman Islands. The conditions here are awesome from November through to May and average UK-type wind during the summer months. It's a really relaxed job, teaching our American tourists basic windsurfing techniques, or when there's no wind, guiding JetSki/snorkel safaris, teaching basic Hobie Cat sailing etc. The amazing things about the job are: 1. The pay is awesome for an instructor - I average US$2500 per month. 2. There's no income tax to pay - even to the UK once you've been out a whole tax year. 3. The company (Red Sail Sports) is big and it's a great place to start a career in watersports. They turn over US$10m PA and in addition to beach fun they run a fleet of dive boats and 65' Catamarans. I'm moving on from teaching windsurfing and getting paid loads to get experience running these Cats - great for anyone interested in a future in Yacht Management. 4. It's a fantastic place to windsurf with waves and a dead-flat-water area 10x the size of of Baby Bay both within a quarter mile sailing distance of our beach base. 5. It's in the carribbean but also is the world's 5th largest economy and has the 3rd highest standard of living. An awesome place to live and work! Red Sail Sports will apply and pay for the successful applicant's work permit. Huge experience isn't necessary but we're looking for university leavers (ideally) who are commercially minded, helping us promote our activities to guests. Please can you send me your CV to have a look at and then send to the Watersports Manager. I've been out here for 2 years already and I'm staying for the foreseeable future (we're building a house here right now). Send applications to jobs@swa dot co dot uk Many thanks |
