The Student Windsurfing Association

Ok, hopefully that got your attention!

Welcome to our 2017 #SWAsummersnaps competition.

Anyone can enter, all you have to do is find a cool photo you took this summer that may or may not have a vague relation to windsurfing (like this one of me outside Club Vass taken by @cglasby). Then, make a new post on Instagram (or Facebook), with a short descriptive caption, tag @studentwindsurf, and the hashtag #SWAsummersnaps.

Our favourite in-house pro-photographer @cglasby will judge all the photos (must have been posted from 27/9/2017 to 5/10/2017), with the winner getting a FREE TICKET TO AUSSIE KISS!
Runners up will get other cool stuff too, but more info on that soon... So, what are you waiting for? Scroll back through those summer photo albums, and get posting!

Hello all you lovely people! It’s nearly time for UK windsurfing season again, and we can’t wait! As we get back into the swing of things, you may notice that we’ve done a little 60-minute (well, a bit more than that) makeover to the SWA’s online home!

Aside from the slick new design, the site’s contents have been rearranged a little. The top menu has been streamlined to try and make all the bits easier to get to. We also now have a brand new MEDIA tab! This is your new one-stop shop to see everything the SWA has been up to. You can find articles about everything from society news to info about our series and competitions. We also have a new gallery of pictures and videos that go all the way back to before 2001, some real gems in there!

Something else we have updated is our payments system. We now use Stripe to take ticket payments, which (as those of you already buying Aussie Kiss tickets will have realised) is very quick and easy to use! It also works a lot nicer in our backend! So hopefully there will be fewer delays or errors in processing your tickets.

There are a few other features in the pipeline so watch this space for any updates! Remember, you can always contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have problems or suggestions!

Over the past year we have worked on a new website back end to improve performance, usability, speed and all of those other lovely things.

Although some features are still being developed the site has now switched!!!

The SWA would like to introduce you to this year's President. Adam! (Yes, that is a very interesting picture....)

"Hey everyone, and if this is your first SWA article, then welcome to the site and more importantly the incredible world of student windsurfing"

He and the rest of the committee are ready to guide you through the year with a jam packed season of 8 events starting with Aussie Kiss in late October and ending with our BUCS Nationals competition.

As with every year we expect to expect to bring hundreds of new faces into the SWA and into the fantastic sport that is WIndsurfing. A-Level results have just been released and if you are going to be a fresher this September make sure you wing by the Windsurfing stall at your freshers fair.

Greetings existing SWA members, XSWA and those who are new to the SWA world! I am your new president. I've windsurfed since I was 10, and my skills do not reflect that. 5 years ago I joined the SWA as a fresher and never looked back; it was by far the best community I could have found myself in. I’m very excited to make my contribution to an organisation that’s just so darned amazing!

We get it, you’re trying to cling onto your student years. But tell us more about yourself!
