The Student Windsurfing Association

As windsurfers claim their place as Bristol University's Club of the Year and UWE's Best New Club - we ask, is Bristol the place to be...?

The last couple of weeks have been very successful for the windsurf clubs of Bristol and UWE.

Bristol dominated their annual AU dinner, not only with their party spirit but also as they won a whole host of shiny awards. Four club members were awarded half-colours, and Gordon Margary (2005-6 SWA racing champion and 2nd in SWA freestyle series) was awarded a Red for his outstanding contribution over the past year. His achievements also gained him the accolade of Bristol University Sportsperson of the Year.

If this wasn't enough, the club also won Club of the Year, an award voted for by all club captains. What a night!

In equally impressive style, UWE were announced as Best New Club at their annual AU awards, which also saw club president Anthony 'Beaker' Lindley gaining Full Colours.

So, is a Bristol university the best place to be if you want to get involved with student windsurfing? These results are pretty inspiring, but we're sure other unis out there may well beg to differ.

So - get involved with the banter, where's best to be, and why? Have any of you won any AU awards this year? Hit the forum and make your voice heard!
