LDN WAVE 2 DA CITY!

The SWA dirt windsurfing championships 2007

LDN WAVE 2 DA CITY!

The SWA dirt windsurfing championships 2007

The first SWA event of 2007 has arrived! It's a bit cold for all but the fanatical to hit the water so Imperial are hosting the first SWA landboarding championships, 19-21st Jan in London.

With the emphasis on fun for all everyone we'll kick things off with a London Underground fancy dress themed party on Friday from 19:30 (think Kings Cross, Seven Sisters, Maid of Ale, Angel, anything from Piccadilly Circus, the list is endless!). Our chosen venue the Reynolds Medic Union (open till 2) will surely be in many peoples memories from last years boat show party. Check out the youTUBE videos if you need a reminder.

Then on Saturday we'll have slaylom, ubercross (a bit like super-cross), eine kleine speed machine (full power; top speed wins!) and  freestyleee landboarding competitions to amuse us! With the latest turfdog designs to play with and demo it's sure to be a blast, if you've got your own board please bring that too as the more kit the merrier (we'll sort out rigs if you let us know so you don't have much to carry though). In the evening we'll head for a bite to eat and of course a drink or two.

Sunday brings with it an Imperial endorsed lie in, just don't tell BUSWA. After an appropriate amount of sleep the WINDvasion will begin. Your chance to wave to the capital city SWA style. In your pre-assigned teams you'll be have until 15:00 to capture the best picture of you and your rigged landboard at the London landmark before reconvening at the Imperial College Union, South Kensington for judging, prize giving and fond farewells.

So SWA dirt windsurfing extravaganza and all for £15 including Fridays party entry, two breakfasts and Saturdays dinner; dirt cheap in the Britains most expensive city.
